Avreichim learn in Ohr Lagolah RBS for four years before Iy’H assuming a leadership position in Israel. Focusing primarily on halacha b’iyun, the avreichim are awarded semicha in yorah deah, shabbos and in niddah by an independent Rabbinic authority.
In addition to their rigorous two-seder learning schedule the avreichim have regular shiurim from Ohr Somayach and Ohr Lagolah faculty such as Rabbi Yitzchak Breitowitz and Rabbi Yehuda Spitz.
Taught by highly regarded Jewish educators and spiritual leaders, eminent scholars distinguished in their own fields, and covering a broad range of theoretical and practical topics, these classes give a solid preparation to anyone considering a communal leadership role.

A primary focus on formal classroom education for yeshiva katana age and up we cover classroom skills, behaviour management, shiur preparation, curriculum development, and how to engage children in the 21st century.
Covering the basic aspects of psychology and rabbinical counseling, and balancing academic rigour with practical guidance, this course tackles Rabbinic Psychology, and the practical application of psychology – clinically, for the family, developmentally, and ethically.
Whether for the home, helping guide people in hilchos kashrus or to kasher their kitchen, for event kashrus management, or for commercial kashrus supervision this training will stand the avreichim in good stead.
Learning how to get your message across. Having the knowledge is one thing but having the skill to effectively convey knowledge to others is something quite different.
Teaching essential life skills that unfortunately many yungerleit are never taught. Including: goal setting, time management, delegation, budgeting, event planning, marketing & publicity, impact evaluation and informal education.
The Community Learning Center enables our Kollel members to integrate their training and learning with practical experience. Besides the avreichim, there are a number of bal habatim that come on a regular basis to learn for an hour, two or some for a full seder. Whether you want to learn for semicha, learn parasha or hashkafa, we have plenty of opportunities for you. All are accompanied by incredible, free, freshly ground coffee and baked goods every morning.
